When you fill in the form or email us, here's exactly what happens to your information — and what doesn't.

Fifth Estate Communications is a content strategy practice based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We're the people you're contacting when you fill in the form on this site or email us directly. Throughout this notice, "we" means Fifth Estate Communications.
Only what you choose to give us through the contact form or by email. Typically that's:
We use Google Analytics to understand basic site usage, such as which pages are visited and how people move through the site. We don’t use advertising trackers, build personal profiles, or sell your information.
To reply to your enquiry. To schedule a discovery call. To send you the diagnostic or playbook if you've engaged us. That's it.
If you become a client, the same information ends up in our normal business records — proposals, invoices, project files — for as long as our working relationship requires.
Form submissions are delivered through Formspree, who forward the message to our inbox. Email lives in our normal business email. Project documents live in our standard work tools. We use reputable providers and keep things on a need-to-have basis.
Enquiries that don't turn into work get cleared out within twelve months. Client records are kept for as long as we have a working relationship plus a reasonable period after, in line with our professional and tax obligations.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you can:
Email jb@fifthestate.co.za with any of these requests and we'll respond within one working day.
We'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the contact page before they apply.
Plain version: you tell us about your problem. We use that to reply, to scope the work, and to deliver what we agreed on. We don't share it, we don't sell it, we don't follow you around the internet with it. If you want it gone, email us.
